But after visiting it, I realized this peaceful town has much more to offer than meets the eye. Situated near the Chambal River and bordered by Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Dholpur offers a raw, untouched side of Rajasthan\u2014full of history, nature, and quiet moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Details of my Dholpur Tourism Guide:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reaching Dholpur \u2013 Easy and Convenient<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting to Dholpur was much easier than I expected. I took a short train ride from Agra, which only took about an hour. For those planning a longer journey, Dholpur is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>55 km from Agra<\/strong> (1 hour by road)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>270 km from Jaipur<\/strong> (5.5\u20136 hours by road)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>60 km from Gwalior Airport<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Well connected by train<\/strong> to Delhi, Gwalior, Agra, and Mathura<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Places to visit in Dholpur<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being a small town, Dholpur offers a variety of experiences\u2014from ancient temples and forts to waterfalls and wildlife sanctuaries. The silence here is calming, and the temple architecture has a rustic charm. After a short trek through greenery, I reached this stunning waterfall. It\u2019s best visited just after the monsoon, when the water is in full flow. I spent a peaceful morning at Ramsagar Sanctuary. The entry fee was just \u20b920, and I was lucky to see several deer, peacocks, and even a crocodile basking by the water. The sanctuary is open from <strong>7 AM to 5 PM<\/strong>, and it&#8217;s great for birdwatching too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where I Stayed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Accommodation options in Dholpur range from heritage stays to basic guest houses. I stayed at Hotel RnB, a budget hotel close to the railway station. I didn\u2019t find fancy restaurants, but the street food and small dhabas were more than enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Try the <strong>kachoris<\/strong> near Railway Chowk\u2014they\u2019re crispy, spicy, and perfect with chai.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I also had a filling <strong>chana-baati meal<\/strong> at a highway dhaba\u2014it was earthy and authentic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lassi<\/strong> is a must-try, especially during warm afternoons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When to Visit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In my opinion best time to visit Dholpur is from <strong>October to March<\/strong>, when the temperatures are pleasant for sightseeing places. I\u2019d avoid the peak summer months, as temperatures can reach above 45\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Handy Travel Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few things I noted during my visit that might help you too:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start your tour early to beat the heat and get the best light for photos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wear shoes with grip, especially if you plan to trek to Damoh Waterfall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carry a small foodpack with water, sunglasses, &amp; sunscreen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always check with locals about the best routes, especially for less-visited spots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Thoughts on Dholpur Tourism Guide<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dholpur might not dazzle you with grand palaces or busy markets like Jaipur or Udaipur\u2014but that\u2019s exactly what makes it special.
